PM follows through with Taranaki rugby promise
When Prime Minister Christopher Luxon was in New Plymouth two weeks ago, he promised to wear a Taranaki rugby jersey in Parliament if the amber and blacks won the Ranfurly Shield.
The promise was made in front of Warner Construction and Taranaki Rugby staff during a visit to New Plymouth earlier this month, where he received a signed jersey.
Then, a few days later Taranaki beat Tasman 42-29 in Nelson to win the Log o’ Wood for the eighth time.

The EPro8 Challenge is the inter-school science and engineering competition. Every year over 25,000 students from throughout New Zealand take part. Students participate in a series of events: firstly within their school and then inter-school.
These events are designed to promote science, engineering and problem-solving and there has been a real change this year in terms of what the students are achieving . Warner Construction is a proud supporter of the EPro8 Challenge.
Taranaki's rising swimming star gets sponsorship to help get her to junior world champs
Taranaki swimmer Monique Wieruszowski has just got a boost to her junior world championship campaign.
The 15-year-old Inglewood High School student is off to the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Netanya, Israel, in September, and the costs involved both with training and in getting to Israel are putting pressure on the bank of Mum and Dad.
But with the help of a givealittle page and $5000 sponsorship from Warner Construction owner Alan Warner, things are about to get a lot easier.

Warner Construction proudly supports Americana 2024
Welcome to the Warner Construction Americarna for 2024. Myself, my family and many of my colleagues at Warner Construction have been avid participants and supporters of Americarna since its beginnings and are delighted to be able to be support the event as naming rights sponsor for 2024.
Americana has long been a great highlight of the year for the Taranaki region and this year’s event looks set to be one of the best ever. There is something so special about bringing together people of all different ages and backgrounds from across New Zealand who all share in the love of American vehicles.
Whether you are a first time entrant, returning participant or a community member visiting the event, you can be assured you will have a fantastic time at any and all of the events across the week - the hardest part will be picking your favourite at the end!
Our thanks goes out to John and the team for the exceptional work they have put into getting the event organised, its history is of great credit to you all. A big thank you to all of the other sponsors, volunteers, local businesses and the Taranaki community for your ongoing support, the event would not be possible without each one of you.
